Mental Performance

We all want to remain mentally fit into old age. There are several things one can do for this. The brain can be trained like a muscle.

Whether you try to learn a poem (again) daily, practice an instrument, or study computer programs is completely irrelevant. Try to learn something new for 30 minutes every day. All of this helps maintain mental performance.

Three Tips from Dr. Dünner

Stay Active

All forms of physical activity also keep you mentally fit. Memory performance can be significantly improved through Nordic walking and gymnastic exercises after just six months. Walk 10,000 steps daily, and you will see that you are fitter.

Maintain Social Contacts

Maintaining social connections is crucial. A Swedish study has shown that loneliness and lack of social interaction increase the risk of developing dementia by almost 60%.

Eat Healthy

Plenty of fruits and vegetables, eggs, nuts, lean meat, and fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids can lower the risk of dementia.
